This wooden sculpture represents a mature male chamois. During an encounter with another chamois, the chamois assumes the characteristic attitude of‘imposition‘: the neck and head are carried erect, the fur and‘back beard‘ are raised, the movements are solemn and, at times, the muscles are shaken. This intimidating behaviour is usually sufficient to drive away a still-young rival.
