This plantigrade is repopulating the forests of Trentino. It is a large mammal, and, despite its weight, can reach 60 km/h. It is usually a shy animal and in spring, after hibernation, it wanders up steep slopes with its young. In this bas-relief, it is depicted observing a bees’ nest, the larvae of which it is greedy for.
