The liturgical feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel or also of Mount Carmel was instituted to commemorate the Marian apparition that the English presbyter Simon Stock claimed occurred on 16 July 1251 (the day of the celebration).
It is celebrated in the parish church of Mezzano di Primiero on the third Sunday of July.
