This sculpture represents the black grouse, also known as the black grouse because of the particular curved shape of the tail feathers of the male. In the Italian territory, it is found exclusively in the Alpine arc, where there are sedentary populations. In early spring, with the first light of day, in the singing arenas it is possible to see fights between male black grouse.
