After a long journey, the desert merchant arrives near Bethlehem and begins to unload his dromedary. He has already taken off his shoes because he is very tired and fatigued. But then something startles the animal and with a leap forward it tries to get up and run away. Amidst shouts and imprecations, the poor merchant tries to stop it by jumping on his back. This is the scene we have tried to immortalise with this new sculpture for the traditional nativity scene.
